This article describes how to add a remote control to an electric hoist. We use a wireless remote control kit to remotely control the electric hoist. This wireless remote control upgrade kit consists of a control box with a wired control handle and a remote control. We install a new control box on the electric hoist, and use a remote control switch with a wired control handle to replace the original wired control handle of the electric hoist, so we can either use the wired handle to control the electric hoist, or use the remote control to control it remotely, which allows you to operate the electric hoist more easily.
Application of electric hoist
Electric hoist is a light and small lifting equipment, usually used for lifting heavy objects. The electric hoist consists of an AC motor, a transmission mechanism, an operating handle, a reel, a wire rope and a hook, and is usually operated by a person using a wired handle on the ground. It has the characteristics of small size, light weight, simple operation and convenient use, and is used in households, industrial and mining enterprises, storage, docks and other places.
This upgrade kit consists of a control box with a wired control handle and a remote control. The capacitor is placed in the control box, which is also equipped with a limit switch.
Using this wireless kit, we can change the electric hoist into a remote control. In this way, we can use both the remote control and the wired handle to operate the electric hoist, which is more convenient to use.

Upgrade Process
We need to remove the original cable and wired control handle from the electric hoist, then directly connect this new control box to replace it. This way we can use the new wired control handle and remote control to operate the electric hoist.
How to install the new control box on electric hoist:
1) Remove the cover with the connecting wire and the handle from original junction box of the electric hoist.
The electric hoist has a junction box, we opened the cover to see various connecting wires and a limit switch. Three wires are connected to the motor through a wire connector, and the other ground wire is connected to the metal housing.
Remove the original wires and wired control handle, as shown:
2) Install the new control box to electric hoist:
Remove the black cover of the control box, you can see some wires and a wire connector, and you also can see a same limit switch.
Connect the ground wire, neutral wire, up wire and down wire of this new control box to the ground wire, neutral wire, up wire and down wire of the electric hoist respectively. Connect this new control box as shown:
How to operate the electric hoist with this new control box:
The electric hoist can be operated by the remote control and wired handle at the same time.
1) By control handle:
The control handle has two buttons.
Press and hold the <UP> button of the handle, the hook will rise.
Press and hold the <DOWN> button of the handle, the hook will drop.
2) By wireless remote control:
The wireless remote control has four buttons: <START>, <STOP>, <UP>, <DOWN>.
First press the button <START>, then you can use the button <UP> or the button <DOWN> to operate the electric hoist.
Press and hold the button <UP>, the hook will rise.
Press and hold the button <DOWN>, the hook will drop.
Note: Once we have pressed the button <STOP>, we can no longer use the button <UP> or the button <DOWN> to operate the electric hoist, thus preventing false triggering.
How to pair the remote control with the controller:
Note: We have paired the remote to the controller before leaving the factory, so you don't need to do this process again.
1) Disconnect the power of the controller.
2) Press and hold the <STOP> and <DOWN> buttons of the remote at the same time until the red and green indicator lights on the remote flash alternately.
3) Turn on the power to the controller immediately at this time, and the indicator light on the remote will go out immediately. Then you can release the <STOP> and <DOWN> buttons.
4) Press the <START> button of the remote, then you can use the <UP> and <DOWN> buttons of the remote to operate the electric hoist.
Note: The <STOP> and <DOWN> buttons should always be pressed during the pairing process.
